Vehicle Description

1934 Ford Model 40 Pickup Ford Motor Company's 1934 trucks were only slightly changed in appearance from the previous model year, though the blue oval logo was notably added to the side of the hood. The stake body version was particularly flexible. The racks were removable to ease loading or accommodate oversized cargo. Ford's trucks were powered by the company's flathead V8 engine. Thx thehenryford.org For consignment, a 1934 Ford Model 40 pickup truck, showing 13,304 miles which are not actual. The steel bodied truck has been chopped, channeled, and sports a 350ci V8 up front over a Mustang II suspension set up and presents as an ode to old school, American hot rodding, checking many of the boxes of the classic recipe. Exterior The orange on the body and bed also appears on the grille surround and headlight buckets which are separated by an open engine compartment featuring chrome dress up and impressive black headers. Small flames lick the bottom of the body and just behind the door while a flaming pinstripe rides the curve of the rear, (and only), fenders along with the shoulder line of the cab. Moon style hubcaps fit over 14-inch front wheels and 15-inch rear wheels with widely staggered tires for that ultra raked look and with a late 2021 date code, you won't need to replace them for a while, unless burnouts are your thing! A visor up top, chrome side pipes down low, and a carpeted bed out back top off the list of things that help make this one cool ride. Imperfections include some cracking bodywork down low and on the tailgate, a sizable scratch near the flames, edge chips, orange peel, and some door fitment that is less than perfect. Interior Button back black vinyl covers the doors while gray tweed and black vinyl make up the bench inside, minimalistic in its construction and backed by a padded wall and rear window with line graphics etched in the glass. A GT steering wheel presents to the driver and it leads to a polished wood dashboard that houses Stewart Warner gauges that span to the middle after which a Kenwood AM/FM/Cassette appears under a monogram plate. Gray carpet surrounds an automatic shifter on the floor with some rough cuts and a button backed vinyl headliner completes the well coordinated interior. Drivetrain Perched out front is a very clean and dressy 350ci V8 with an Edelbrock 650 cfm AVSII 4-barrel carburetor, put into motion via a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission sending power to the 10 bolt rear axle. We have disc brakes up front and drums at the rear. Undercarriage A chrome differential cover highlights a clean underside with minimal surface rust and some oil on the pan, flywheel cover, and trans pan. A 3 link with coil overs make up the rear suspension while a Mustang II front end occupies the bow end of the truck. Drive-Ability This cozy cabin is the stuff of boyhood dreams with a sporty steering, indicator lights, and power underfoot. The 350 fires right up and off we roll, nose down, towards the test loop. The 295/50R15's out back provide stable footing and this car excels in the straight away with good power and proper tracking. Every function in this thrilling, unencumbered ride works as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. This is how it was done in 1955 fellas, only this time with a few modern touches including a Mustang II front and a cassette player, which hadn't been invented yet. This is a fun little ride you'll enjoy tooling around town in, and it has the bonus of an open bed in which to carry your cruise night essentials; folding chairs, a cooler, your show sign, and an extra jacket or two for those autumn cruise ins! Keep on Truckin' with this 1934 pickup that will set you apart from the other, more common body styles of the era. Classic Auto Mall is home to more th
