Vehicle Description

1961 Chevrolet Apache 10 Short Bed Pickup As part of American vernacular, native American references are commonly used to designate strength, ruggedness, and exclusivity and in some cases, include artful representation.  In American automotive manufacturing, this is especially true and tribes representing include the Cheyenne, (Chevrolet), Cherokee, (Jeep), Dakota, (Dodge), and Apache, (Chevrolet).   For consignment, a 1961 Chevrolet Apache 10 short bed pickup showing 439 miles which are not actual.  This is a fully built restomod with a ZZ4 crate motor, disc brakes all around, and an undercarriage nice enough to warrant you bringing mirrors to any car show in which this truck appears.  Its smooth, white body is as clean as fresh snowfall and wait until you pop the hood!  Exterior It's as if Chevy designs took the '59 Apache and put it in a hydraulic press for a few seconds and the rounded, high roofed truck of the 50's became flat and slim and with the mods of this particular Sophia White truck, hunkered low over the 20-inch US Mag wheels.  A heavily louvered hood includes some of the most distinct marker light housings in the truck world over browed dual headlights and a substantial front bumper decked out in brushed nickel finish.  In profile, other than the lowered stance, all looks textbook Apache but head to the back and the black trim around the rear window presents as a nice custom touch and creates the illusion of a larger window.  In the bed, holes in the front wall mix with holes and louvers on the inner fenders for a weight saving stylistic mod, while nice oak planks trade places with stainless brackets for a finished look.  The rear bumper, and much of the metalwork, has a brushed finish that is both subtle and unique.  We could not find any imperfections on this truck's exterior.  Interior Showy brushed nickel panels wear red and white pinstripe patterns, and the rest of the steel is body colored.  A bench seat from an '85 Chevy, redone in red leather, makes a vibrant appearance and is in great shape and includes cupholders in the center cushion.  A steering wheel from Billet Specialties presents to the driver, nickel finished with a red rim.  The clean dash features black faced Dolphin gauges and outside of the instrument cluster, the dash gleams in Sophia White and a Lokar shifter rises from the nickel floor plate over a loosely fitted black vinyl mat.  An under dash finishing piece continues the perforated metal motif with rows of holes in its span.  Red visors contrast with the white painted roof to cap a clean, show quality interior.   Drivetrain Let's start with the inner fender wells of the engine bay which are painted bright red and aerated with more holes than Bonnie and Clyde's car and doused in bright red paint that immediately steals your eyes from the engine, itself a cosmetic masterpiece.  But we break through the trance to see the 350ci V8 ZZ4 crate motor good for 385 horsepower and fed go juice through a Holley 4-barrel carburetor.  The air cleaner cover atop the carb is painted candy apple red and accented with black and white pinstripes, another connection to the interior.  An aluminum radiator, Sanderson headers, and an electric fan make the list of features in this show worthy presentation.  A DelTrans rebuilt TH400 3-speed automatic transmission sends power to the Moser axle in back which is a Ford 9 with 3.55 gears.   Undercarriage In a word, wow!  It's not just spotless underneath, it's the afterparty to an incredible show.  First, the driveshaft is candy apple red.  That's a mic drop, but there's more.  3 stainless exhaust with cutout and wrapped Borla mufflers emit polished tailpipes that tilt towards Mother Earth under the truck.  Disc brakes wear red calipers on all four wheels while other surfaces are glossy black, silver, and flat black.  Not a speck of dirt, grease, or oil is seen.  CPP suspension is employed here with coil spring
