Vehicle Description

This 912E hotrod is live on Bring a Trailer. Check out the auction here: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-porsche-912e-81/ This 1976 Porsche 912E was acquired by the current owner in 2015 and subsequently underwent a backdate build, including the installation of steel rear fender flares, fiberglass bumpers, a longhood conversion, and a ducktail spoiler. Power is supplied by a 3.0L flat-six mated to a five-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential, and the car has been repainted Mexico Blue. The interior was re-trimmed in 2016 with black leather and Pepita cloth Recaro seats and features a Wevo shifter, a MOMO steering wheel, and backdated gauges. The car rides on 16″ Group 4 wheels and is equipped with KW suspension components, Boxster front and rear brakes, and 21mm and 29mm torsion bars. This 912E is now offered on dealer consignment as part of The Arizona Car Week Collection from 911r with build photos and records, custom luggage, and a clean Arizona title. Finished from the factory in black, the car was fitted with steel rear fender flares, a longhood, a ducktail spoiler, and fiberglass bumpers, and it was repainted Mexico Blue by Arizona Collision Center. Polycarbonate rear windows with vents were added and paint protection film was applied to the front end. The sunroof was also rebuilt and fitted with replacement seals, and additional equipment includes H4 headlights, black Porsche stripe graphics, and external hood latches. The 16″ Group 4 wheels are mounted with 205/55 front and 225/50 rear Pirelli tires. A space-saver spare is stored in the front trunk. Boxster front and rear brakes were installed in 2014, and 21mm and 29mm torsion bars were installed by Patrick Motorsports of Phoenix, Arizona in 2016. The car rides on KW two-way adjustable suspension components. The brake fluid was flushed in 2024. The interior was reupholstered in 2016 and features Recaro front bucket seats and rear seats trimmed in black leather with Pepita cloth inserts along with a black-leather trimmed dash with white stitching. Additional details include basketweave dash trim, RS-style door panels, a Wevo shifter, power windows, black carpets, and Rennline pedals. The MOMO three-spoke steering wheel fronts backdated VDO instrumentation that consists of a centrally mounted tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and oil temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 2,900 miles, and approximately 5k miles were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 3.0L flat-six was reportedly sourced from a 1978 911SC and installed in 2016. A front oil cooler was also added. An oil change was performed in 2024. Compression test results are provided in the gallery. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 915 five-speed manual transaxle, which was rebuilt by Patrick Motorsports, including replacement of the synchros and gears. A Quaife ATB limited-slip differential has been added along with a billet transmission side cover and Wevo bearing plate retainer. The exhaust system incorporates headers and a stainless-steel dual center-exit muffler.
