Vehicle Description
Overall, this '88 560SEC presents as an excellent well cared for survivor. It's a two owner Bay Area Native that has resided in Marin County since 1992. It's stock and unmodified with the exception of a set of period correct 16\" Lorinser 5-spoke Monoblock style alloy wheels. The exterior is finished in BlauSchwartz (referred to as Black Pearl in America) and still wears most of its original paint and retains all VIN tags save for the left front fender. The undercarriage looks as a California car should we no sign of winter weather exposure or salted road driving. The exterior is mostly blemish free, but does wear some typical minor bumps and bruises consistent with an original car with these miles. Mechanically, the car is sound, and the motor and gearbox casings are dry. The engine starts cold and warm without smoke or sign of valve seal or ring wear, and is free of valvetrain and chain noise. Acceleration is smooth and strong and the 4-spd automatic gearbox shifts smoothly and deliberately with no slippage or clunking between gears. A fluid and filter service was performed and rear brakes and various engine seals and gaskets were replaced in preparation for sale. The Beige Leather interiorhas fared well as the vehicle received window tint early in it's life that protected the leather and carpet from UV exposure. The tint was removed prior to sale. The walnut console and dash insets as well as dash cap and door cards are free of cracking and age related breakdown. All accessories are functional, including the power antenna and antenna actuation switch . The OEM Becker stereo is also present and fully functional.The car retains both original ignition keys, the OEM wheels, a valet key, owners literature, jack and tool kit.
