The Cadillac Fleetwood is a model luxury car that was manufactured by the Cadillac division of General Motors between 1976 and 1996. The "Fleetwood" name was previously used as a prefix on several of Cadillac's models dating back to 1935. Four-door cars bearing the name "Fleetwood" generally had longer wheelbases than Cadillac's more common Series 62 and DeVille models. In 1993, the Fleetwood name was switched from the DeVille's front-wheel drive C-body to the newly revised rear-wheel drive D-body that the Cadillac Brougham had used previously. It was one of the first American front-wheel drive vehicles to be returned to rear-wheel drive.
